Overview
NuBlu Mobile CNG Fueling System is a 20-ft Connex-based mobile CNG fueling package built around a 125 HP, 2-stage hydraulic booster. Unlike conventional reciprocating compressors, the hydraulic compressor continues to operate as inlet pressure drops, making it ideal for trailer-based fueling, RNG sources, and satellite stations where supply pressure varies.
Designed for unlimited start/stop cycles, simple operation, and high reliability, the package delivers up to 4,000 psig discharge pressure with onboard cascade storage, integrated PLC controls, and a turnkey trailer-to-vehicle fueling path.
Key Features
• 125 HP, 2-stage hydraulically driven CNG compressor (B100-30, 60 Hz)
• Discharge pressure up to 4,000 psig (300 bar design / 275 bar operating)
• Average flow ~690 SCFM (~4.7 DGE/min) across the full suction range
• Continues compressing as trailer pressure decays — no fixed minimum suction
• Unlimited start / stop cycles with no compressor wear penalty
• Integrated PLC controls, HMI, and instrumentation for unattended operation
• Onboard cascade storage (high / medium pressure banks) with sequenced fill logic
• Coriolis mass flow metering for fueling and custody-style data capture
• Closed-loop glycol cooling with air-cooled heat exchanger
• All gas valving, manifold, and trailer load / unload connections included
• 20-ft ISO container, factory-built and pre-commissioned
• 480V, 3-phase, 60 Hz electric drive — VFD compatible
Why Hydraulic Compression Hydraulic CNG compressors use a hydraulic cylinder to push gas through the compression strokes instead of a crankshaft and reciprocating piston. That single design change drives every customer-facing benefit.
• Variable suction tolerance — the unit pulls a trailer down to low residual pressures without stalling
• No bearings or rod packings in the gas path — fewer wear parts, lower maintenance
• Smooth, low-pulsation discharge — easier on downstream piping, drying, and metering
• Quiet operation — well-suited to fleet yards, behind-the-fence sites, and urban locations
• Cold start friendly — short warm-up, fast response to fueling demand
• Compressor – B100-30, 2-stage hydraulic CNG booster (60 Hz)
• Drive Power – 125 HP, 480V / 3-phase / 60 Hz, VFD compatible
• Suction Pressure Range – 30 to 200+ bar (435 to 2,900+ psig)
• Discharge Pressure – Up to 4,000 psig (300 bar design / 275 bar operating)
• Flow Capacity – 400 SCMH at 30 bar suction; 2,640 SCMH at 200 bar suction
• Average Flow – ~1,100 SCMH (~690 SCFM, ~4.7 DGE/min) across 200 to 30 bar
• Cooling System – Closed-loop 50/50 EG/H2O glycol with air-cooled heat exchanger
• Cascade Storage – Type IV composite vessels, 270 L modules (HP and MP banks)
• Metering – Coriolis mass flow meter at gas discharge
• Controls – PLC + HMI, gas detection
• Enclosure – 20-ft ISO Connex with louvered ventilation
• Connections – Trailer load / unload manifold; 1″ ultra-fast-fill quick couplings
• Safety – ASME-stamped sections, PSVs at each stage, emergency shutdown
• Configuration – Single or dual compressor packages available
Applications
• Behind-the-fence fueling for fleet yards and private terminals
• Mobile and temporary CNG fueling stations
• Trailer / virtual pipeline unloading and vehicle dispensing
• Satellite and remote site fueling
• Early fleet deployments where permanent infrastructure is not yet justified
• RNG offload and dispensing at production or interconnect sites
• Bridge fueling during station construction or upgrades
Benefits
• Faster deployment — pre-engineered, factory-tested 20-ft skid
• Lower infrastructure risk — relocatable as fleet plans evolve
• Higher trailer utilization — pulls trailers down to low residual pressures
• Lower maintenance — fewer wear parts than reciprocating CNG compressors
• Reduced civil and electrical scope — single Connex, single power feed
• Operator-friendly — simple PLC-driven start/stop and fill sequences
• Scalable — deploy single units or multi-unit configurations as demand grows
Configurations Available as a single-compressor or dual-compressor package on a 20-ft Connex platform. Multi-unit configurations are deployable in 33-ft and 40-ft container options for higher throughput sites.
